H 61cm, W 61cm, D 3.8cm
original painting
acrylics on deep canvas
ready to hang
white wooden frame
This work is loosely inspired by my favourite JMW Turner painting, “Snow Storm: Steam-Boat off a Harbour's Mouth”, which made my heart beat faster when I first saw it in Tate Britain.
Turner depicts a steamboat in immediate peril, battling to survive the ocean's fury in a snow storm. My painting explores the possibility of harnessing nature’s energy (strong winds, high seas, breaking waves) to propel us forward. Nature's energetic release, such as snowstorm at sea, can become an invigorating force that helps us reach clear skies and calm waters.
